Copper Prices Surge with No Buying Interest from Downstream; Market Remains Quiet [SMM North China Spot Copper]

Today, spot copper cathode in North China was at a discount of 150-110 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 130 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous trading day. Transaction prices were 79,280-79,630 yuan/mt, with an average price of 79,455 yuan/mt, up by 1,015 yuan/mt from the previous trading day.

Today, spot copper cathode in North China was quoted at a discount of 150-110 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 130 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous trading day. Transaction prices ranged from 79,280-79,630 yuan/mt, with an average price of 79,455 yuan/mt, up 1,015 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Copper prices surged again today, leaving downstream buyers hesitant with almost no purchasing interest. Inquiries were scarce, and the spot market was very quiet.
